Was Donald Trump Placed 'Under Arrest' at Manhattan Courthouse?

On March 4, former U.S. President Donald Trump turned himself in for arraignment at a Manhattan Courthouse, where criminal charges against him related to hush-money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels were read.


Technically, Trump was "under arrest" from the moment he surrendered himself to the court, but, as Snopes' Alex Kasprak reports, the phrase "under arrest" can be misleading in this context.
