Can Americans Be Trusted to Vote by Mail?

Hard to believe a U.S. presidential election is less than six months away, but it may explain why President Donald Trump turned up the heat this week on his (unproven) argument that, because of voter fraud, Americans shouldn’t vote by mail — even though, as Dan Evon reports, the president has voted via mail himself.
Absentee voting by mail has long been an option for Americans who meet certain criteria, and a few states already vote exclusively by mail. However, as mail-in voting increasingly gains traction across the country as a safer alternative to traditional in-person voting during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the question lingers: Has voting-by-mail increased reported instances of voter fraud? David Mikkelson took a closer look at a spurious headline claiming 28 million mail-in ballots went “missing” in the last four elections.
P.S. However you prefer to vote, be sure you’re registered first.
