Mail-In Ballots and Voter Fraud

As state governments scramble to establish new election protocols so people can safely vote during the COVID-19 pandemic, U.S. President Donald Trump continues to condemn the idea of mail-in ballots as a substitute for in-person voting.
Trump has claimed more than once that mail-in ballots “substantially increase” the risk of voter fraud. Yet despite using hyperbolic phrases like “tremendous fraud” and “tremendous illegality” to describe the outcome of voting by mail, neither the president nor his supporters have provided evidence to back up such statements.
