Oh God, our help in ages past, we give thanks for the great cloud of witnesses that has gone before us. Saints whom you created and loved. Their faithfulness in troubled times is an inspiration and a prod. May we also have the wisdom to face their sins and the humility to see how they connect to our own. The landscapes and systems and communities that structure our everyday lives are riddled with injustice. In the archive we find clues as to how we got here and reminders that we, too, are characters in the story. Help us to discern our way faithfully forward, God. You are our hope for years to come. Amen.
