Did Maxine Waters Urge Protesters To ‘Get More Confrontational’?

On April 17, Rep. Maxine Waters visited a racial justice protest in Brooklyn Center, a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The California Democrat attended the protest just two days before jury deliberations began in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who is on trial for the murder of George Floyd.

While answering questions from reporters, she purportedly told protesters to "stay in the street," "fight for justice," and "get more confrontational."
