    March 6-April 10

The book or e-book is available on Amazon with reader reviews. A seven-week virtual course meeting Sundays from March 6 through April 10 at 4 PM (Eastern) 2 PM (Mountain). Scholarships are available.
  • Painting And Praying With Icons - Learn More (with Pat Catlett)
    March 20-26
Explore the theology and techniques of praying with and creating an Icon in the ancient Russian Byzantine style, using egg tempera on a gessoed panel. Journey into understanding the tradition and aesthetic mysteries of icons. Learn to ‘read’ a sacred visual language, and perhaps re-discover your ‘self’ in relation to God. Learn more about Saint Mary Magdalene, a woman with first-hand experience of the teachings of Jesus Christ, referred to as The Apostle to the Apostles.

  • Creating Art For, With, and In Church - Learn More (with Brenda Grauer, UCC Minister and member of the In Stitches Center for Liturgical Art)
    April 24-29
Many churches today are inviting artists and artistic expression into new venues of ministry. Rotating church art galleries, artists in residence programs, meditation and visioning prayer practices are prevalent examples. Participants will share their own congregational experiences in artistic expression, and explore the vast ministry possibilities for engaging the arts in congregations. Reflect together upon the nature of art as a vehicle of God’s Spirit, and study Biblical texts about artful expression in ancient faith communities.

  • GHOST RANCH GOSPEL CHOIR (with Todd and Linda O’Neal)
    July 17-23
Join Rev. Todd and Linda as they enjoy the red rocks and take in the Holy with music. Rev. Todd O’Neal is a graduate of Kentucky state university and the methodist theological school in Ohio where he earned his master of divinity degree. He is married to the former Linda Fay Buie, a gospel recording artist, missionary, and co-pastor of the House of Joy Ministries.

  • CREATING LITURGY: THE ART AND STORY OF THE CHURCH (with Brenda Grauer)
    July 24-29
Designed especially for pastors, worship committees, worship teams, and liturgical artists, this retreat offers space and respite to all who seek sacred creativity while being immersed in the church’s rich heritage of liturgy.

  • THE ART OF AGING (with Marcia Aldrich)
    October 8-14
We have all aged, no matter what our age. Writing about aging is writing about time, how much do we have, and what to do with it. We will explore our own experiences through brief practice writings, readings, and talk among ourselves, touching on many parts of growing older—physical and mental health, feelings and attitudes, relationships with others, purpose, what our culture tells us—with the goal of producing draft essays we can later revise.

  • SAINTS AND AINTS (with Jean Hathaway)
Whether judging a technology or a person (or both), post-industrial cultures value what’s most efficient and productive. We’ll review the Commandments and Beatitudes, The Seven Deadly Sins and Lively Virtues, Benjamin Franklin’s Chart of 13 Virtues. And a tip o’ the hat to The Screwtape Letters. Our goal is to draft poems and paragraphs from various points of view that entertain differing understandings of bias and blessing.
  • WE LIVE STORIED LIVES (with Keith Herron)
    October 16-23
Join in a 5-day workshop that is a celebration of our every day, ritualized lives by exploring our stories across the arc of life. It’s about how we change and grow from moment to moment, from year to year, from one stage of life to another. Using principles derived from narrative therapy, we will reflect on how our stories spill over into other arenas of life, demonstrating the interconnectedness of life, how all things come from the same place, and how we’re all connected in some mysterious way.
