Registration Is Open for February 2023 Ghost Ranch Workshops

Registration is now open for our February workshops and offerings.

For the beginning months of 2023 we will be taking workshop registrations by phone. We have a team of registrars ready to take your phone call.

To register you can:

1. Use the Register Now button on each workshop description which will take you to a form page. After filling in the form, you will be added to our list for a callback within 72 hours.

or

2. To avoid missing our call, on your form receipt page, there is a booking link option to schedule a call with a registrar so you will have a fixed appointment time.

or

3. You can call 505.685.1000 and if a registrar is available to take your call, they'll be happy to book your reservation.

Expressing Environmental Ethics Through Paint

Retreat into nature at Ghost Ranch to paint inspired images based on place and concepts of environmental ethics in your favorite medium. In Expressing Environmental Ethics through Paint, through nature walks, discussions, journaling, and painting explorations, we will merge environmental ethics with the canvas.

Quilt Your Cause

with Karena Koberle Wells

Meditate and create a quilt about your cares and concerns. Let your quilt speak for you with imagery and/or words. Learn how you can express yourself with piecing and appliqué. Try making free-hand pieced words– embellishments to expand your vision.

Peace by Piece Mosaics

with Kathy Thaden

This is an opportunity to engage in a visual conversation regarding The Art of Justice and our care for all that surrounds us-the environment and compassion for our sisters and brothers globally. We will take time during the week to see examples of art that contribute to the narrative of reconciliation and healing. Experience helpful but not required.

Using Art in the Church’s Healing Ministries (Rev. Brenda Grauer)

with Rev. Brenda Grauer

This hands-on theological practicum will use art materials and activities to address contemporary issues impacting churches now. In a time plagued with fractured social interaction and isolation, illness, grief, depression, fear, and loss are issues pastoral staff and care givers in the church are facing each day as we all navigate post-pandemic life and new social and cultural norms.

Writing Wild: A Poetry Writing Intensive

with Pam Uschuk

Concentrate on writing poetry inspired by the wild, by land and cultures in and around Ghost Ranch. The main goal of the intensive is to write poetry concerned with ecological issues such as species loss and climate change, as well as to give shape to the wild inside by observing the wild outside. Come prepared to write and share your work.
