WCC NEWS - Digital justice study guide now available in French and Spanish

“Digital Justice: A study and action guide” is newly available in French and Spanish, widening access for even more people who want to learn more about being a digital advocate and bridging the digital divide.
15 September 2021, Berlin, Germany: An international symposium on Social Justice in a Digital Age is held in Berlin, Germany. Co-organised by the World Council of Churches and World Association for Christian Communication, the event brings together research, experiences from different regions and marginalized communities, expert input on economic and political trends, and ethical and theological reflection as a contribution to the WCC 11th Assembly in September 2022. The guide, co-published by the World Council of Churches and the World Association for Christian Communication and launched in November 2022, explores digital divides and what they mean in different contexts. The guide also provides practical tools as well as case studies that tell the story of how coordinated advocacy can bridge digital divides.

Chapters for individual and group reflection include:
Digital Divides in a Global Society
Accessing Digital Spaces
Weaponization of Digital Resources
Surveillance, Censorship, and Privacy
Digitality and Marginalized Peoples

The guide outlines three steps to strengthen digital justice at the grassroots level, regionally, and globally: educate, advocate, and connect.
