Invest a minute or two every day for an entire year in brief daily readings to gain an understanding of the structure, contents, and personalities of the entire Bible.
A helpful companion for some willing to consider Jesus for the first time.
For others, an insightful review in your spiritual journey of reconstructing your faith.
The Bible is a collection of writings by 40 authors over 1,500 years, on three continents, in three languages, with one consistent invitation: follow Jesus. Simple but profound when you consider the teaching and life that Jesus modeled, inviting us into a radically other-centered way of living.
For those struggling with their faith, deconstruction is not the enemy of faith. As a matter of fact, it can be the uncomfortable hallway between spiritual rooms. It is the honesty of saying, “Something needs to change if I am going to start or continue following Jesus.”
If you are in a season of questioning, you are not alone, and you are not a disappointment even in God’s eyes. Maybe a disappointment in your church, your family, or your circle of friends. But Jesus isn’t afraid of your questions or struggles. He meets you in them. Be encouraged. There is a long and sacred history of people wrestling their way in a deeper, more personally genuine faith.
Reconstructing Faith will provide information, inspiration, and invitation. The Stages of Reconstruction model from Dr. Daniels will guide you through three phases of reconsidering Jesus — from disbelief to transformation. It’s a developmental journey of faith:
Stage #1 - Rejection of Faith: The Certainty of Disbelief.
Stage #2 - Reevaluation of Faith: Asking Hard but Honest Questions.
Stage #3 - Renewal of Faith: Learning to Follow Jesus.
Welcome to this year-long adventure. You are not alone but in good company with a “cloud of witnesses” as the New Testament reminds us in Hebrews 12:1.
