The Mystery Woman of the IRA

It isn’t always clear why a particular text or image goes viral at a given moment, which is certainly the case with a vintage photograph said to show a female volunteer in the Irish Republican Army shooting at British soldiers to defend her fiancé in 1972 Belfast.
