Hurricane Ida Response and Request from the 8th Episcopal District

Hurricane Ida Response Request from the 8th Episcopal District

Supervisor Wicker, Valencia, and Lauren join me in expressing our concerns and efforts about recovery of our members, churches, and our citizens in the

aftermath of Hurricane Ida’s massive, destructive path on August 29th. We stand with you in a spirit of restoration. Rest assured, we will rebuild, and we shall be restored.God is stronger than any hurricane; therefore, we have decided to trust God for restoration, believing Psalm 34:4: “I sought the Lord, and the Lord heard me and delivered me from all my fears.”

Our plan for restoration includes the following:

1. Encourage those affected to file insurance claims as soon as possible.

2. Appealing to the people of the Eighth Episcopal District for financial

support.

3. Seeking help from community and corporate partnerships.

4. Seeking support from our Connectional A.M.E. Church family.

Contributions may be made payable to the Eighth Episcopal District and mailed

to this address: P. O. Box 14227, Jackson, MS 39236, or you may send it via Cash

App: $8THAMEC or Givelify: Eighth District African Methodist Episcopal Church.

You may email me at Bishopwicker137@gmail.com.

Yours In His Service,

Bishop Stafford J. N. Wicker

Presiding Prelate
