Please join us for a webinar

Afghanistan and the Costs of War

October 5th, 1pm ET

According to the Costs of War Project, the war in Afghanistan has cost the United States over 2 trillion dollars to date.  And, in addition to the over 2000 US soldiers killed, it is estimated that over 230,000 people have died in Afghanistan and Pakistan as a direct result of the war.

The humanitarian conditions in Afghanistan are increasingly dire. Nearly half of Afghanistan’s population needs humanitarian assistance, and seven out of ten Afghans will soon be living below the poverty line.  One in three Afghans are going hungry, and nearly 10 million children are in dire need of aid.  With winter approaching, the humanitarian crisis is only expected to deepen.

As the United States' longest war comes to an end, join us for a webinar to look at the true costs of the war - both for the Afghan people and the United States.  Hear from humanitarian groups who are working in Afghanistan. Learn about the current situation on the ground and the specific challenges humanitarian organizations are facing.  Learn what you can do to help both in terms of advocacy and direct assistance.
