5Ps: Prompt, Ponder, Process, Pause, Poem - Virtual
with Anita Skeen, November 8-12, 2021

In this online workshop, we’ll slow down and examine the steps we go through, or should go through, in creating a poem. There are many things that prompt a poem: what are they? Where are they? How do we become attentive to them, then begin to think about them and turn them from observations into art? All levels of experience are welcome from those who have never attempted a poem to those who have published widely.

Beauty in Brevity - Virtual
with Colleen Anderson, November 8-12, 2021

A well-crafted short essay is intimate, heartfelt, and moving. It combines the narrative flow of fiction, the concise quality of lyric poetry, and the emotional power of song. Explore some of the many inspirations for short essays — from childhood memories to pet peeves to passionate beliefs.

January Immersions In Person 2022

As 2021 draws closer to its end, we look forward to what 2022 will bring to Ghost Ranch. The ranch begins every year with our traditional yearly January Term program. For three weeks, traditional students from colleges and non-college life-long learners from across the country bask in the richness of the ranch, learn new skills, gain new friends, and are introduced to the culture and beauty of the Southwest.

We invite you to invest in yourself with the gift of time and beauty, and spend three weeks at the start of 2022 to follow a passion, explore a new area of learning or renew your wellness plan for the coming year.

Choose one track from the following:

  • NEW - Joyful, Healthy and Whole - 21 Days to Renewal with Laurie Magoon
  • The Spirit of Clay: Micaceous Pottery with Martha Romero and Michael Bancroft
  • Wild Tales: Lyric Nature/Eco Writing with Pam Uschuk
  • Digital Photography in Color and Black and White with Kent Bowser and John Hayden
  • Introduction to Silversmithing in the Southwest Tradition with Jamie Halpern and Steve LaRance
  • Archaeology, Geology and Paleontology For Explorers with Dr. Martha Yates

Our mission, with you as our partner, is a commitment to foster well-being and spiritual health through this historic, inspiring southwest landscape.

But we can’t complete our mission without you.
