Theology Matters - To Fulfill Our Calling

To Fulfill Our Calling

Through the years I’ve observed countless colleagues and interns, church officers and seminarians in ministry. Those who are able to meet the urgent needs of preaching, teaching, leading, and pastoral care are always those who pursue deeper biblical and theological understanding. To fulfill our calling, we need a clear grasp of God’s word and the witness of the church through the ages.

Theology Matters is and has been faithfully meeting this need. It has been an indispensable support for me and countless others in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition around the world as we labor to fulfill our gospel ministry. It continues to serve as a wellspring for all who would sustain a life of Christian service.

The challenges confronting the church are many in our age of disconnectedness and anxiety, but the grounding of the church will always be upon the Word of God. She will always need to evaluate her proclamation in light of Scripture as it is attested in the creeds and Reformed confessions of the church. This is essential to guarding the integrity of the church’s message.

Even as Theology Matters expands its reach, our calling remains unchanged. And among the manifold ministries of Christ, none is more foundational than equipping pastors, elders, and seminarians—the present and future leaders of the church—to be faithful to their gospel vocation. We are uniquely proven and able to meet that need. Will you join me in making a special gift to Theology Matters at this critical time? We cannot fulfill our calling without you.

Gratefully in Christ,

Randy Working, Ph.D.

P. S. We have a proven history of equipping congregational leaders to understand the theological challenges and opportunities of our times. With your generous help, we can continue this urgent and joyful task!
