GETI 2025 is planned to happen in conjunction with the WCC’s Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order, will be held at Saint Bishoy Monastery in Wadi El Natrun—a historic centre of Coptic monasticism located southwest of Alexandria, Egypt, 24-28 October. The residential phase of GETI will take place at the conference location from 13-28 October.

“GETI 2025 offers a rich tapestry of theological reflection, historical insight, and contemporary ecumenical dialogue. The programme spans the breadth of the ecumenical journey from the foundational work of Faith and Order to the urgent calls for justice, reconciliation, and decolonization in today’s world,” said Rev. Dr Kuzipa Nalwamba, WCC programme director for Unity, Mission, and Ecumenical Formation.

“We invite a new generation of leaders to engage with the Apostolic faith as a unifying confession, to reflect on the Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace as a transformative practice, and to confront pressing global challenges through the powerful lens of Christian unity,” she added.

The opening of the online phase included an overview of the curriculum, study plan, accreditation process, and grading system, followed by the introduction of the facilitators and the GETI 2025 team. Participants also received a walkthrough of the online learning platform to ensure smooth navigation.

Prof. Dr Ani Ghazaryan Drissi, coordinator of GETI 2025, stressed that “the launch of the GETI 2025 online phase marks a pivotal step in expanding global access to transformative education and collaboration.”

“By moving this phase online, we are breaking down barriers of distance and time, creating opportunities for participants from every corner of the world to engage, learn, and innovate together. This platform is not only a bridge that connects diverse voices and perspectives, but also a catalyst for bold ideas that will shape a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future.

“GETI 2025 is more than just a program — it is a living network of change-makers, and this online phase is where that collective energy begins to accelerate."

GETI 2025 will bring together students from all parts of the world to engage with the conference theme and one another, as well as the critical theological themes of our time.
