“Check the CDC” has been a common refrain when trying to understand how to live and breathe during this pandemic. That’s because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s core mission is to protect the health of Americans by issuing guidelines, statistics, and other information that serve that purpose.
So it was a surprise to hear a report that the Trump administration had told hospitals to no longer report COVID-19 data to the CDC.
