Snopes Debunker - Our Exclusive Report On Sarah Huckabee Sanders Supporters Facebook Group

Exclusive: Foreign, Pro-Trump Facebook Group Recruited Kentucky Moderator

Beyond our work debunking memes and hoaxes, we at Snopes are particularly targeting coordinated inauthentic behavior (CIB) this election season. CIB happens when misinformation campaigns are fueled by bad actors with fake accounts, a practice that is thriving on social media platforms everywhere. Our latest investigation is a prime example of this troubling trend.

In examining the legitimacy of a popular Facebook group dedicated to Sarah Huckabee Sanders, we found indications of inauthenticity everywhere. The identities of its administrators, its account information, and its posting activity contain evidence that the group’s intentions are not what they seem.

Learn more about how we determined this, and how other politically motivated Facebook Groups could be doing similar things, by reading our latest report by Snopes’ Operations Editor Jordan Liles.
