The Mummy's Curse

On this day in 1912, the “unsinkable” RMS Titanic went down in the North Atlantic Ocean after its hull was pierced in a collision with an iceberg. As the years passed, a more supernatural explanation for the catastrophe gained a toehold in popular culture: Unbeknownst to its crew and passengers, the ship was carrying a “cursed” Egyptian mummy in its hold.
